The (huge) front yard was filled with cars parked there. Volunteers (that the WebMaster again forgot to get in a picture) were directing traffic on the center's front lawn and driveway.

Volunteers were everywhere helping Mona and Bill with the many visitors.

A nice, cold ice cream cone was just what many people needed on a sunny, warm day.

New this year was the Give-A-Hoot auction which was a combination auction and drawing. Quite popular with the attendees.

Radio station K96 was here again this year doing a live remote broadcast from the festivities.

Popular with the kids were some kids games with prizes for all! Pick-a-duck (plastic) and toss-a-frog (bean bag) challenged even the biggest kids.

Visitors were treated to center tours and received some education at some locations, such as these program snakes. See, they're not slimy!

Two young boys enjoyed viewed the wings used for educational programs. They were amazed at the size of the wings from larger raptors.

Volunteers were ready to help visitors and explain the animals, their treatment, and the various enclosures.

The auctioneer always has the audience spell-bound during the live auction. Everything from wildlife paintings to antique furniture was offered at the auction.

BACK TO THE WILD! is a volunteer wildlife rehabilitation and nature education center. Our primary mission is to rehabilitate and ultimately release into their natural habitat, injured, orphaned and displaced wildlife.

BACK TO THE WILD! is also dedicated to promoting appreciation and respect for our native wildlife by educating children and adults of their role in being responsible caretakers of our Earth. The most critical problem facing wildlife today is loss of habitat. Through education, we can better understand human impact on our natural world and make informed decisions that will preserve and protect habitats everywhere.
